Turkish resort Belek on fire, people evacuated from hotels

Forest fire broke out on Saturday evening in Kundu district near Antalya, where popular tourist hotels are located

A fire has engulfed the Turkish resort town of Belek, located in the province of Antalya. Hotels are being evacuated, the social media portal AntalyaHakkında reported.

“A fire broke out in Belek and hotels are being evacuated“, the statement said.

A forest fire broke out on Saturday evening in the Kundu district near Antalya, where popular tourist hotels are located. According to the General Directorate of Forestry, the fire has also spread to the provinces of Mugla and Aydin.

A total of 14 aircraft, 20 helicopters and more than 800 personnel are involved in extinguishing the fire.
