The violation of Estonian airspace is a provocation against the European allies on NATO's Eastern flank. This was stated by the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the social network X.
The department's position comes after three Russian fighter jets entered and remained in Estonian airspace for 12 minutes yesterday.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that international peace and security cannot and should not be compromised.
At the same time, early this morning Poland scrambled fighter jets to ensure the safety of its skies due to Russian strikes in Western Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense denied that its planes violated Estonian airspace. The department specified that the three planes flew over neutral waters of the Baltic Sea while moving from Northwestern Russia to Kaliningrad, and did not violate the borders of other countries.
US President Donald Trump warned that "it could become a big problem" because of the situation.
