Oktoberfest in the southern German city of Munich begins today, with millions of people expected to visit the world-famous beer festival, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
The mayor of the Bavarian capital, Dieter Reiter, will open the 190th edition of the largest festival of its kind in the world on the Theresienwiese meadow at 12:00 (13:00 Bulgarian time).
For 16 days until October 5, participants can join the festivities in the famous beer tents, ride a Ferris wheel and dress in traditional costumes.
The event is expected to attract up to 6 million visitors, with a record 7 million people joining the festivities in 2023.
The first weekend of Oktoberfest 2025 is expected to be held in ideal weather conditions, with temperatures forecast to reach 30 degrees today.
