The White House is planning bilateral talks between US President Donald Trump, Syrian interim leader Ahmed al-Sharaa and Volodymyr Zelensky, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing its sources.
According to the newspaper, Trump may also meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for the first time in his second term. Dates for the possible meetings have not yet been announced.
On September 16, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that Trump could meet with Zelensky next week in New York, where the high-level week of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly will be held.
On September 19, CBS News White House correspondent Jennifer Jacobs reported on X that Trump also hopes to meet with the Syrian leader during the UN General Assembly session.
The anniversary session of the UN General Assembly opened on September 9. The high-level week will be held from September 23 to 29.
