Russia and Iran will sign agreements this week to build new nuclear units in Iran, the Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported, citing the director of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

Mohammad Eslami, who is also Iran's vice president, spoke during a visit to Moscow.

Western governments accuse Tehran of not complying with the 2015 agreement with world powers, which was intended to prevent Tehran from developing nuclear weapons. Iran denies any such intentions, and Russia says it supports Tehran's right to peaceful nuclear energy.
