At least 37 people were killed in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday as a result of Israeli strikes on residential areas, Yemeni TV channel Al Masira reported.
According to the channel, Israeli artillery shelled the eastern and southern neighborhoods of Gaza City, killing 30 people.
On September 16, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the start of an intensive offensive in Gaza City. Its stated goal is to defeat the radical Palestinian movement Hamas. The Israel Defense Forces said it had repeatedly warned local residents to leave the combat zone.
US President Donald Trump will present a proposal to Arab leaders to end the war in the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported, citing a report by “Axios“. Trump will do so later today.
The meeting, at which the American proposal will be presented, will include officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia and Pakistan.
According to “Axios“, during the meeting, in addition to the topic of releasing the hostages held by “Hamas“ in the Gaza Strip and ending the war in the enclave, Trump is also expected to discuss the principles surrounding the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the post-war governance of the enclave, in which “Hamas“ will not participate.
Trump also wants Arab and Muslim countries to agree to send troops to Gaza, which would allow Israel to withdraw its forces from there. Trump also wants funding from Arab and Muslim countries for the transition and reconstruction of Gaza.
