Border crossings between Poland and Belarus will resume work at midnight on Wednesday/Thursday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said today, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
Poland closed its border with Belarus this month because of Russian-Belarusian military exercises in the country. Poland's concerns about the "West-2025" exercises intensified after 21 Russian drones entered the country's airspace on the night of September 9-10.
“The end of these exercises reduces, although I cannot say eliminates, various threats. "Taking into account the economic interests of Polish carriers and railway companies, we concluded that this measure has fulfilled its purpose," Tusk said at a meeting of the Polish Council of Ministers.
“If tensions increase, I will not hesitate and we will take appropriate decisions,“ he added.
