White House: US taxpayers benefit from new arms sales to Ukraine

It's no longer free, Caroline Leavitt says

US taxpayers benefit from new arms sales to Ukraine because it's no longer free, it's paid for by NATO countries.

White House press secretary Caroline Leavitt made the announcement on Fox News on Tuesday.

“The president has announced that we will continue to sell weapons to NATO, and the alliance and Ukraine can choose how to use those weapons,“ she said.

“But the way this arms deal was negotiated under President Trump puts America first, because we're selling these weapons to Ukraine, which is NATO, and the alliance is supplying these weapons to Ukraine, so the US taxpayers benefit from that. "This is a change and a shift in position compared to the Biden administration," Leavitt said.

Trump had previously said that the United States would continue to sell weapons to NATO countries.
