US President Donald Trump intends to visit Japan in late October this year, Kyodo News reported, citing sources in the Japanese government.
According to the news agency, the exact dates of the visit are currently being specified. Trump is expected to stop in Japan on his way to South Korea, where he will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which will be held from October 31 to November 1.
This will be Trump's first visit to Japan during his second term. As Kyodo News reports, Japan will have chosen a new prime minister to replace the retiring Shigeru Ishiba by the end of October.
