On the night of September 25-26, two unidentified drones were spotted over the Karlskrona archipelago in Sweden, where the main base of the Swedish Navy is located. This was confirmed by police representative Matthias Lundgren in a comment to SVT, BTA reports.
The drones flew about 10 kilometers from the base. According to Lundgren, it is a larger version of a device similar to those previously observed over Denmark and Skåne. “It is still unclear what exactly happened, but we have filed a complaint for violation of the Aviation Act“, he said.
The first signals came from local residents who informed the police. One of the drones was spotted by a police patrol in the area of the Möcklesund bridge. Reports of sightings were also received from residents of the islands of Sturke and Türke, who described the device as flashing red and green lights.
“The patrols must now provide their observations. We will collect eyewitness accounts and assess whether we can continue the investigation based on this information,“ explained Evelina Olsson from the command center.
It is recalled that the previous night, on September 24-25, groups of unidentified drones were also detected over Denmark in areas with military facilities.
