Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine tonight, Ukrainian authorities reported, according to which the attack with hundreds of drones and missiles has so far injured at least ten people in the capital Kiev and the city of Zaporizhia, reported Agence France-Presse, quoted by BTA.

"Russia has launched a new massive air attack on Ukrainian cities while people were sleeping. Once again, hundreds of drones and missiles that destroy residential buildings and cause civilian casualties," Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said on the social network "Ex".

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported six injured after a massive attack, five of whom are in hospital. At least four strikes were launched on the city of Zaporozhye in southeastern Ukraine, according to the governor of the Zaporozhye region, Ivan Feodorov. He reported four injuries.

The Russian Defense Ministry, for its part, announced today that Russian air defense forces shot down 41 Ukrainian drones overnight.

"Last night, air defense forces on duty destroyed 41 Ukrainian unmanned aircraft of the aircraft type: 12 - over the territory of the Kursk region, 10 - over the Bryansk region, 8 - over the Belgorod region, 4 - over the Tula region, 3 - over the Yaroslavl region, 2 - over the Rostov region and one each over the Novgorod and Samara regions", the ministry said, quoted by TASS.
