American President Donald Trump announced today that one can expect "something special, something unprecedented" in the Middle East peace talks, on the eve of the visit of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
"We have a real opportunity to achieve something great in the Middle East. Everyone is ready for something special, for something that is happening for the first time. We will succeed," he wrote on his platform "Truth Social".
During a conversation with journalists on Friday, Trump already said that he believes there is a "deal" on Gaza, after presenting a new peace plan to several Arab and Muslim countries, as well as Benjamin Netanyahu, during the week.
"This will be a deal that will return the hostages. "This will be an agreement that will end the war," the US president promised.
According to a diplomatic source, the 21-point US plan provides, in particular, for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the release of Israeli hostages held in Palestinian territory, an Israeli withdrawal, as well as future governance of Gaza without "Hamas", whose unprecedented attack on October 7, 2023, triggered the war, AFP recalls.
