The Washington administration is discussing the possibility of supplying Tomahawk cruise missiles to other NATO countries for subsequent delivery to Kiev.
The final decision will be made by US President Donald Trump, US Vice President J.D. Vance said in an interview with Fox News.
“You are asking about “Tomahawk“. The final decision on this will be made by the president. The president will do what is in the best interest of the United States. That is the driving force behind his decisions in foreign policy and defense. And we will apply the same logic to this issue of “Tomahawk“, Vance noted, speaking about the possibility of such supplies.
“Let the president talk about it, but I know we're talking about it right now.“
The Democratic Party is threatening to shut down the federal government in pursuit of billions of dollars in benefits for illegal immigrants, Vance said.
“I think the American people need to pay attention to the fact that the Democrats are threatening to shut down the entire government because they want to provide billions of dollars in health insurance for illegal immigrants,“ he said.
“I've never seen anything like this. I've never seen a political party openly declare their desire to shut down all the important work of the government. And they want to use this as leverage to get more money for health insurance for illegal immigrants,“ he added.
US President Donald Trump plans to meet with congressional leaders of both parties on September 29 to discuss measures to prevent a federal government shutdown. On September 19, Trump raised the possibility of a government shutdown if Republicans and Democrats in Congress fail to reach a consensus on a bill to continue funding the government by October 1. On September 19, the Senate rejected two bills to continue funding the federal government.
