Human rights activists: over 1,000 executions in the country in just nine months

Iran executed a man today accused of spying for Israel, Reuters reported, citing information from the Iranian media outlet Mizan, BTA reports.

The executed man has been named as Bahman Choubi-asl.

Last Monday, DPA reported that more than 1,000 people were executed in Iran in the first nine months of this year, citing data from a report by the Norway-based human rights organization Hengau.

According to the organization, 404 of the executions were carried out after the outbreak of the war between Iran and Israel in June.
