The Ukrainian military said that on the night of September 30 they destroyed a radar station of the Russian S-400 "Triumph" air defense system in Crimea.
"On the night of September 30, units of the Special Operations Forces destroyed a radar station of the Russian S-400 "Triumph" anti-aircraft missile system," the military said in a statement quoted by the BBC.
They explained that the radar station was the "eyes" of the air defense system and without the element for surveillance and guidance "the entire system loses its combat effectiveness".
The Ukrainian military did not provide further details about the location of the strike or the means used.
Moscow has not yet commented on the allegations and there is no confirmation from independent sources.
