Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the opinion that the US has not yet made a final decision to provide "Tomahawk" cruise missiles to Ukraine, Reuters and TASS reported, quoted by BTA.

"I do not think that this is a decision that has already been made," Moscow's number one diplomat told participants in this year's edition of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi.

On Sunday, US Vice President J.D. Vance indicated that Washington is considering a Ukrainian request to provide "Tomahawk" missiles. According to Lavrov, the statements from the American side seem more like the result of pressure from Europe, and the United States wants to show that it takes into account the opinion of its allies.

Yesterday, Russia said that its military is analyzing whether Washington would indeed provide "tomahawks" to Ukraine for strikes deep into Russian territory, a step that, according to Moscow officials, could lead to a sharp escalation of tensions.
