Qatar sees a need to clarify details and further negotiations on the peace plan for the Gaza Strip proposed by US President Donald Trump, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

“The plan is still at an early stage and needs to be developed and clarified“, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani told Al Jazeera television today.

He said the plan needed most clarification on the scheme for withdrawing Israeli troops from the coastal enclave.

The plan presented by Trump is subject to “discussion on the details and how to implement them“, Al Thani was quoted as saying by “Al Jazeera“.

Although the main goal remains to end the war between Israel and the Palestinian Islamist movement “Hamas“, the Qatari prime minister announced that “clarification and additional details are needed, which require negotiations“.

In presenting his peace plan, Trump, as has often happened before, expressed hope for an end to the war in the Gaza Strip. But as with his previous proposals, after the announcement of the current Washington plan, questions remain, raising doubts about whether it can actually lead to peace, Reuters notes.
