US, UK and Poland provide anti-drone equipment to Denmark

The country's airspace will be closed to civilian drones until October 3

The US, UK and Poland will provide anti-drone equipment to Denmark during the EU and European Political Community summits in Copenhagen. This was announced by the Danish Ministry of Defense in H.

The ministry did not specify the specific nature of the American assistance. The UK will provide anti-drone equipment and specialists to operate it, while Poland will provide experts.

Germany is sending approximately 40 military personnel to Denmark for the same purpose, while France will provide a Fennec military helicopter and 35 specialists. Sweden will provide a system to combat drones, several radars, as well as police and search dogs. Norway will also contribute police officers, while Ukraine “offered expertise to strengthen Denmark's defenses against drone attacks“.

Due to the meetings, Danish airspace will be closed to civilian drones from September 29 to October 3. EU heads of state and government will meet in Copenhagen on Wednesday. A meeting of the European Political Community will be held there on Thursday. Denmark earlier reported unidentified drones seen in the skies over Karup and Skridstrup air bases, Holstebro barracks and several civilian airports.
