The United States has deployed P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine aircraft to Norway, Newsweek magazine reports.
The Pentagon is reportedly interested in having the patrol aircraft in Northern Europe due to drone incidents in Denmark, Poland and Norway, as well as the “threat emanating from Russia to NATO countries' underwater cables and pipelines“.
The Boeing P-8 Poseidon is an anti-submarine aircraft capable of performing patrol missions. It is in service with several NATO countries, including the United States. Its range is over 8,000 km and it can carry various anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons.
