The Crimean bridge should be demolished because it is a statue of Vladimir Putin's ego. This was stated by former UK defence minister Ben Wallace, quoted by The Guardian.

He said that the Ukrainian peninsula of Crimea, illegally annexed by the Russian Federation in 2014, should be made “unviable“.

“I think what we need to remember is what motivates Putin. Putin is in love with the idea of dominating Ukraine, taking over Ukraine, “Crimea is Russia“... If you read his speeches from 2014, he compares Crimea to Mount Athos”, said the former British defense minister.

“So we need to help Ukraine have long-term options to make Crimea unlivable. We need to stifle life in Crimea. And I think if Putin realizes that he has something to lose, that it is not habitable or not possible to function“, said Ben Wallace.

According to him, Germany should provide Taurus cruise missiles to Kiev, with which the Ukrainians can destroy the Crimean bridge that Putin built to connect Crimea to Russia. “If we do that, Putin will suddenly realize that he has something to lose“, said Wallace.
