The Kremlin said today that the US and NATO are now regularly providing Ukraine with intelligence information, after reports emerged that Washington would provide Kiev with intelligence data on Russian energy targets, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

"The US regularly provides intelligence information to Ukraine via the Internet", Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists. "The provision and use of the entire NATO and US infrastructure for collecting and transmitting intelligence information to Ukrainians is obvious", he added.

The American newspaper "Wall Street Journal" and Reuters reported earlier today that the United States will provide Ukraine with intelligence on Russian energy infrastructure targets that can be hit by long-range weapons, as Washington considers whether to send Kiev missiles that could be used for such strikes.

The United States has long exchanged intelligence with Ukraine, but according to the "Wall Street Journal" the new data will make it easier for Kiev's forces to shell oil refineries, gas pipelines, nuclear power plants and other infrastructure. The goal is mainly to deprive the Kremlin of fuel sales and consumption, Reuters said.

The approval of the new intelligence assistance to Ukraine came shortly after US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine is capable of regaining territory seized by Russia.
