The European military strategy is wrong and will collapse with dire consequences, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on the air of the national radio “Lajos Kossuth“, quoted by the MTI agency, BTA reports.

According to him, the strategy is based on the assumption that Russia's resources will run out faster than those of Europe, which will lead to a shortage of funds for weapons production. During this time, Europe will continue to finance and arm Ukraine, and the Russian economy will weaken to the point that “uprisings may even break out“.

“In such a scenario, Russia could be forced to abandon its military goals, which would allow Ukraine to regain its territories“, Orbán commented.

However, he stressed that Europe must clearly answer two questions: “How long will this process last and at what cost“.

The Hungarian prime minister pointed out that hundreds of people are dying every day and hundreds of millions of euros are being spent on the war. He reiterated that the Hungarian position is based on a call for a ceasefire and peace, with diplomatic negotiations being the only way forward.
