A possible decision by the US to deliver “Tomahawk“ missiles to Ukraine will lead to the destruction of positive trends in relations with Russia, Vladimir Putin said in a comment to VGTR journalist Pavel Zarubin.
„This will lead to the destruction of our relations. At least the emerging positive trends in these relations. So I say what I think. "And how things will develop depends not only on us," the Russian leader said.
Putin stressed that he had honestly presented the essence of the issues at the Valdai plenary session, and how Western countries would react "is their business."
„I simply honestly and frankly outlined certain situations, the essence of the problems and how I see them. It is up to my colleagues in Western countries to respond. I speak sincerely and honestly," the head of state emphasized.
He noted that in his speech he had presented the pressing problems "as they actually were" and how he himself "would like to see the situation develop." Whether Western countries will take the Russian leader's words into account, as he himself noted, “depends on the position of those people who were discussed in one way or another at Valdai“. “Some will like something, others won't. I have never set a goal to present something pleasant. I just say them as they are,“ Putin concluded.
