Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth commented on Fox News about a popular meme about the department's surge in pizza orders during a crisis.
He claims to be familiar with a social media account called X that tracks pizza orders at restaurants near the War Department building, drawing conclusions about crises that force military personnel to work late.
“I order a lot of pizza on random days to confuse everyone. On Friday nights, you see a lot of orders, but I'm the only one who hacks the app,“ the War Department chief joked.
The Pentagon has previously announced measures against obese and poorly maintained soldiers. The changes followed Hegseth's speech to troops at Marine Corps Base Quantico, where he and President Donald Trump declared "the end of the era of political correctness in the military."
