The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck at night the "Ya.M. Sverdlova" FKP in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army reported, quoted by the BBC.
According to the Ukrainian side, the target was one of the largest enterprises in Russia for the production of industrial explosives, which is part of the Russian military-industrial complex.
The statement of the General Staff states that "the plant for the production of explosives and ammunition was hit", and "multiple explosions and a fire were recorded in the area of the target".
The Russian Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin confirmed earlier that at night in the area of the Dzerzhinsk industrial zone, air defenses repelled an attack by 20 drones, but assured that no damage was caused to industrial facilities. He did not specify which facilities were attacked.
In addition, the Ukrainian General Staff reported that "facilities" at the Feodosia offshore oil terminal in Russia-annexed Crimea were "hit." The attack on the terminal and the attack in Dzerzhinsk were previously reported by independent sources.
Russia has not yet officially commented on the Ukrainian claims.
