US President Donald Trump has called for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker to be arrested, Reuters reported.
He accused the two Democrats of failing to protect federal immigration officers.
Trump's comments come as the president ordered the deployment of National Guard troops to Chicago, the nation's third-largest city, despite objections from local and state officials.
The mayor of Chicago should be in jail for failing to protect immigration officers! Governor Pritzker too!", Trump wrote on his social network Truth Social.
We recall that earlier the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago filed a lawsuit against Trump to block the deployment of the National Guard to the region.
