President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said today that Ukraine is already successfully using the "Neptune" and "Flamingo" missiles in pairs. The head of state announced this during a conversation with journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reports, Focus writes.
"Last week – I will not say in what quantity – our –Neptune“ and "Flamingo“ pairs were used. You can analyze the relevant results yourself. We are not saying that this is a mass use of this pair. We are simply saying that there is use and there are the first tangible results of this particular weapon of ours“, Zelensky said.
Commenting on the possibility of retaliatory strikes deep into Russia with Ukrainian weapons, the president noted that there is a positive outcome to this issue.
"Palyanitsa“ has already begun to hit enemy military formations in dozens of cases. This is a positive side, because we had different moments, now we are talking about isolated cases. The second positive moment: "Ruta“, our drone missile, for the first time hit a naval tower with an altitude of over 250 kilometers. The greatest success – – – – – – – – – – – – – was the mass use of up to 300 units, and this is a serious operation. "What is happening is really, in my opinion, a great success", concludes the head of state.
The modernized "Neptune" has been successfully operating against ground targets for a year. It is currently at a distance of up to 400 km, and will soon reach 1,000 km.
Recall that the Ukrainian "Flamingo" missile with a range of over 3,000 km was launched onto the battlefield in the summer of 2025. It was manufactured by the "Fire Point" company. The first photo of the weapon was published by photographer Efrem Lukatsky. Then the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Denys Shmygal officially confirmed that the missile had been put into mass production.
Zelensky also announced on August 21 that "Flamingo" should be put into mass production in a few months. The president then said that test runs had already been conducted, but did not reveal details about the missile.
In September, Irina Terek, head of the Fire Point service center, announced that the company was increasing production of the Ukrainian Flamingo missile. By that time, the figure had already reached 50 units per month, compared to 30 units in August.
