US President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine and Russia will soon hold peace talks. He stated this at the White House, where he received the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, reports Evropeyskaya Pravda, quoted by Focus.
Trump reiterated again that he thought that settling the war between Russia and Ukraine would be easier than it actually turned out.
However, Trump expressed hope that this could be achieved.
"This is a terrible war. The worst since World War II. Look at the people being killed there. This is Russia and Ukraine. I think we will make a deal there, we will make it. They have a lot of reasons to do it and I think they will sit down at the negotiating table very soon“, Trump believes.
We recall that after the meeting between Putin and Trump in Alaska on August 15, the American president began to increasingly publicly criticize Russia for its unwillingness to resolve the war in Ukraine.
After a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Trump even stated that he believed in Ukraine's ability to return the territories seized by Russia.
