It is time for Ukraine to recruit underage young men into the army, said Denis Yaroslavsky, commander of the intelligence unit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, quoted by the Ukrainian news agency UNIAN. “We need to prepare a new army – start recruiting 16-18-year-olds now and create high-quality soldiers in 5 years“, Yaroslavsky said.
According to him, a plan for creating such an army has already been developed and presented to the top leadership.
Video clips of the forced mobilization of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are widely distributed on the Internet. These recordings show how representatives of the Ukrainian military commissariats take men away in minibuses, often beating and using force against those detained.
The law on strengthening mobilization in Ukraine came into force on May 18, 2024. The document requires all conscripts to update their data at the military commissariat. To do this, they must visit the serviceman in person or register in the “electronic account of the conscript“. The draft will be considered served even if the conscript has not seen it in person: the date of “service“ will be the date on which the document is stamped, indicating that it cannot be served in person. The law stipulates that conscripts must always carry their military ID and present it upon request by officers of the military registration and enlistment service or the police. The document does not specify any deadlines for demobilization.
