US President Donald Trump said that he is ready to send Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine if the war with Russia is not settled. He sees this threat as a tool to put pressure on the Kremlin and plans to discuss it directly with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trump made this comment aboard the presidential plane Air Force 1, traveling to the Middle East to participate in the signing ceremony of a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, reports Ukrainskaya Pravda, quoted by Focus.

During his flight to the Middle East, Trump commented on his policy regarding the war in Ukraine, contrasting it with the approach of the previous administration.

"Biden gave them (Ukraine) $350 billion. We gave them nothing. But we gave them respect and some other things, frankly“, he stated.

Trump confirmed that he had discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky the needs of the Ukrainian army. According to Trump, the US may send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, “if this war is not resolved“.

“Ukraine badly needs Patriot missiles. They would like to get Tomahawk missiles...“, the US president said.

He described the Tomahawk as “an incredible, very powerful weapon“ and added that before making a final decision, he may discuss this issue with Putin.

“I can talk to him (Putin). I can say: “Listen, if this war is not resolved, I will send them (Ukraine) Tomahawks“. I can say this... Frankly, Russia does not need this“.
