Turkey has sent a total of 101,725 tons of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip since the start of the war on October 7, 2023, the Communications Directorate of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey announced, BTA reports.
The aid was delivered via 16 ships and 14 aircraft, with coordination provided by the Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD). Both state and public organizations participated in its collection.
17 trucks with food and three with blankets and duvets are expected to arrive in Gaza today. Since July 27 alone, 333 trucks with humanitarian supplies - including food, medicine, tents, vans, generators, hygiene materials and drinking water.
“Turkey is among the countries that sent the most aid to Gaza, but its contribution does not end there. Ankara also demonstrates resolute diplomatic support for the Palestinian issue“, the statement, also distributed to BTA, states.
According to the Communications Directorate, Turkey has become a “voice of conscience“, upholding the principles of regional stability, justice and human dignity.
