US President Donald Trump has confirmed that he plans to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on October 17.
The US president added that Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan can help resolve the Ukraine conflict.
"Erdogan respected by Russia. I can't say anything about Ukraine, but he is respected by Putin and he is my friend," the US head of state said.
The British newspaper Financial Times reported yesterday, citing its sources, about Trump's intention to meet with Zelensky.
The New York Post, citing the Ukrainian embassy in Washington, reported that the Ukrainian president has already received an official invitation to the White House.
On Sunday, Volodymyr Zelensky announced his second phone call with Trump in two days, during which they discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
Later, Axios, citing two sources, reported that Trump and Zelensky discussed the possibility of Kiev receiving Tomahawk missiles by phone.
Last week, Trump said that he had practically made a decision on the supply of American cruise missiles Ukraine's "Tomahawks," but wants to know how Kiev intends to use them.
