Magnitude 6.7 earthquake strikes Indonesia's Papua province

Epicenter about 200 km from Abepura, no tsunami warning

A magnitude 6.7 earthquake shook Indonesia's Papua province today, the U.S. Geological Survey reported, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.

The depth of the quake was 70 km, and its epicenter is about 200 km from the city of Abepura, which has a population of over 62,000 people.

No tsunami warnings were issued after the earthquake.
