Ukraine will hardly be able to return to a completely peaceful existence in the coming years. This opinion was expressed during the Kyiv International Economic Forum by the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, TSN reports, quoted by Focus.
"Our society will have to realize that a completely peaceful and non-threatening life in the coming years is unlikely. I do not want to claim that we will fight calmly. But the fact that we must be ready for resistance, in particular armed, at any time will be a challenge for our society. And we will have to come to terms with this“, Budanov commented.
Earlier, the Kremlin once again stated that Ukraine is not ready to enter into peace negotiations with the Russian Federation, while Moscow, on the contrary, is ready. Such a statement was made by Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He also praised Trump for his “political will“.
At the same time, former US Ambassador to the OSCE and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Mike Carpenter earlier stated that Trump is likely to withdraw from the peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. He noted that Ukraine is only the third priority of the US administration after the situation in the Western Hemisphere and the Indo-Pacific region.
