The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the remains of a dead hostage handed over last night by the Palestinian movement "Hamas" have been identified and belong to Eliyahu Margalit, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.

The Israeli army "informed the family of the kidnapped Eliyahu Margalit that the body of their loved one has been returned to Israel and that his identification has been completed," the prime minister's office said. They added that "there will be no compromises and no effort will be spared until the bodies of all the dead hostages are returned, down to the last one".

Earlier, Israel said it had received the body of a hostage handed over last night to the Red Cross in the Gaza Strip.

The information was announced again by the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Israel received, through the mediation of the Red Cross, the coffin of a dead hostage, which was handed over to the Israeli army and the Shin Bet (Israeli counterintelligence service) in the Gaza Strip," the statement said.
