Ten people injured in balcony collapse in Cincinnati VIDEO

Five of them seriously injured

At least 10 people were injured, one of them critically, after a balcony at an apartment complex off the campus of the University of Cincinnati collapsed Friday night, NBC News reports, quoted by FOCUS.

"Five people suffered serious injuries, while four people suffered minor injuries“, Cincinnati Police Department Captain Steven Bauer said during a press conference, according to NBC News.

He added that many students live in the building where the balcony collapsed, adding that at the time of the incident, they were celebrating the successful passing of an important exam.

A call about a balcony collapse on the third floor was received at around 10:09 p.m. local time, according to city spokesman Lindsey Lomax.

Most of the victims are believed to be students at the University of Cincinnati.

It is not yet clear how many people were on the balcony when it collapsed.
