US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that multiple US allies have offered to join with "massive force" in a possible operation in the Gaza Strip targeting Hamas, but that there is no such need at this time.
Many US allies have said they would welcome the opportunity to go in to Gaza and deal with Hamas with massive force, Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.
"I told these countries - and Israel - "NOT YET!" There is still hope that Hamas will do the right thing. If they don't, the end of Hamas will be FAST, FURIOUS, AND BRUTAL! I want to thank all the countries that have called to offer help," the American president added.
The statement comes at a time when the United States is trying to preserve the fragile truce between Israel and Hamas and move forward with the second phase of Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza, which envisages the disarmament of Hamas and the formation of a technocratic Palestinian government under international supervision.
So far, the White House has not specified which countries have expressed their willingness to join a military operation, but according to diplomatic sources cited by American media, several Middle Eastern and European partners of the United States are among them.
