Third parties should not interfere in cooperation between China and Russia, Liu Pengyu, press secretary of the Chinese Embassy in Washington, told RIA Novosti.
„Ordinary bilateral cooperation between China and Russia is not directed against third parties. "Third parties should not interfere in it," the diplomat said.
Earlier on Thursday, a week before the planned summit between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump, the embassy urged Washington to abandon "harmful trade practices."
Bilateral issues should be resolved on the basis of mutual respect and equality to ensure the stable and healthy development of relations, the Chinese side stressed.
The meeting of the leaders of China and the United States in South Korea is scheduled for October 30. Trump said on Tuesday that he intends to discuss a wide range of issues with the Chinese president and expressed hope for the success of the negotiations, including on trade disputes.
The White House earlier reported alleged information that Chinese companies will buy less Russian oil.
