Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Kiev's allies to impose sanctions on all Russian oil companies, shadow fleet and Moscow's oil terminals so that it cannot finance its war against Ukraine, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

In a speech in the presence of some of the leaders of the so-called Coalition of the Willing, the Ukrainian leader pointed out that Russia, which is attacking Ukrainian energy, is trying to use the upcoming winter as a means of putting pressure on Ukraine.

"Peace is achieved by putting pressure on the aggressor", Zelensky said.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte pointed out that with the new sanctions introduced by the United States against Moscow, the pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin is increasing even more, and added that Putin's money is on end.

"Our support for Ukraine is paying off," the alliance's secretary general said. Putin, he said, is making only limited progress on the battlefield in Ukraine.

Rutte is also in London for a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, a group of countries supporting Ukraine.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoff called on the EU to follow the US example and sanction Russian oil companies to force Putin to end the war in Ukraine.

"It would be good for the EU to borrow the US-British model and sanction "Lukoil" and "Rosneft", he said at the meeting in London. "We need to do more to eliminate the shadow fleet system and the Netherlands will not shirk its responsibilities in this matter in the North Sea."
