Maria Zakharova: Look at the madness that EU countries have reached

European countries, facing the risk of global war, continue to incite and reach madness. This was stated by the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova, quoted by RIA Novosti, writes Focus.

"Look at what is happening in Europe. Look at the madness that EU countries have reached", the diplomat emphasized.

In August, Zakharova criticized NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, saying that his ideas contribute to the "fascization" of Europe.

Rutte gave an example of a "historical incident": The Baltic countries had embassies in the US for about 50 years, while their territories were part of the USSR. He proposed a scheme according to which the West should not currently legally recognize the transfer of new territories under Russian control.

Zakharova noted that the embassies of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia in the United States were organized in the last century by Nazi accomplices who fled Europe after World War II, so the Secretary General's proposal "is striking in its immorality."

Earlier, she predicted that the EU would retaliate for threats of secondary sanctions against third countries.
