North Korea has conducted a cruise missile test off its west coast, state media reported, quoted by Agence France-Presse and BNR.
The test comes a day before US President Donald Trump is due to begin his visit to South Korea. The state news agency said the missiles were launched vertically over the Yellow Sea and flew for over two hours.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was not present at the test, although he usually follows such events closely.
Donald Trump said he would be very happy to meet Kim Jong-un this week during his first visit to the Korean Peninsula during his second term. North Korean authorities have not yet responded publicly to the invitation. The two leaders last met in 2019 in the Korean Demilitarized Zone, Agence France-Presse recalls.
