Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin begins a two-day visit to China on Monday, where he will meet with Premier Li Keqiang, President Xi Jinping and other senior officials, Reuters reported, citing a Russian government press release, BTA reports.

Mishustin's first stop will be the city of Hangzhou, where he will meet with Li Keqiang and participate in the 30th regular session of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation.

The Russian PM will then travel to Beijing to hold talks with President Xi.

The Russian government press release emphasizes that relations between Russia and China are developing strategically, especially in the energy sector. Russia is the leading supplier of oil to the Chinese market and this year became a major supplier of natural gas, thanks to the full commissioning of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. In addition, agreements have been reached on the construction of the Power of Siberia-2 gas pipeline, which is expected to become one of the largest projects in the gas industry.

The talks will also cover other key areas of cooperation, including trade and economic ties, logistics infrastructure, the development of high technologies, agriculture and other areas.
