US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that the Palestinian Hamas movement is allegedly obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and must stop looting and lay down arms.

“Hamas continues to deprive the people of Gaza of the humanitarian aid they desperately need. This theft undermines international efforts to support President Trump's plan to provide critical assistance to innocent civilians“, Rubio wrote on social media.
Rubio attached a video from the Pentagon's Central Command to the post, adding that Hamas members are suspected of stealing food from a truck delivering aid.

The secretary of state called the movement an obstacle. "They must lay down their arms and stop looting so that Gaza can have a bright future," Rubio stressed.

Earlier on Saturday, Gaza authorities announced that Israel has allowed only a quarter of the agreed volume of supplies into the strip since the ceasefire with Hamas took effect. The local administration stressed that an average of 145 trucks are allowed into the strip per day, compared to 600.
