In the coming days, Ukraine will receive the two Patriot air defense systems promised by Germany. They will be provided by European partners. This is reported by the German channel Aid to Ukraine on the social network X, quoted by FOCUS.
"The delivery of two MIM-104 Patriot launchers from the Bundeswehr warehouses in Ukraine, announced in early August 2025, which was largely financed by Denmark, Lithuania and Norway, should be completed in the coming days!“ - the message says.
Ukraine's need for Patriot systems
As UNIAN wrote earlier, in October Zelensky announced that Ukraine is preparing a contract for the purchase of 25 Patriot systems. According to him, this will not be a one-time delivery, the complexes will arrive over several years, since the manufacturer produces them at a certain pace.
The problem is that the ''queue'' of those waiting to purchase these systems is already quite long. Zelensky appealed to his European partners to give up their place in the "queue" so that supplies go first to Kiev, and only then to those countries that are not currently at war with anyone.
In parallel, work is being done to ensure that Ukraine continues to receive air defense systems directly from the army warehouses of European countries. It is within the framework of this program that Germany is transferring two of its Patriot systems.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have repelled Russian troops near Novy Shakhove, while the Russian army is advancing in the Donetsk region and Zaporizhia. This was reported on Saturday, November 1, by the Ukrainian monitoring project DeepState.
The Armed Forces of the Ukrainian SSR successfully repelled enemy attacks near Novy Shakhove.
Meanwhile, Russian troops are advancing near Kozatsky, Krasnogorskoe, and Mirolyubivka. In recent days, it became clear that the Russians managed to capture Novogrigorivka.
The situation in Pokrovsk and Zaporizhzhia region
On October 24, Ukrainskaya Pravda, citing officers from two brigades, reported that at least 250 Russian soldiers are currently in Pokrovsk, participating in firefights with Ukrainian servicemen in positions, including drone operators. The article notes that the situation is critical.
The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported earlier that Russian troops had advanced into central and western Pokrovsk and had taken up positions along the railway line, although the exact contour of the front line in the city and its surroundings remained unclear.
On October 26, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the situation in the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration area remained difficult. Russian forces were numerically superior and were increasing their offensive efforts in this direction. The General Staff of Ukraine confirmed that the Russian army had gathered approximately 200 soldiers in Pokrovsk.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky denied Russian news reports about the alleged encirclement of thousands of Ukrainian fighters in the areas of Kupyansk and Pokrovsk, while confirming that heavy fighting was taking place in these cities.
On October 27, representatives of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that urban fighting was taking place in Pokrovsk, but that Russian troops did not fully control any of the city's districts.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the Russian occupiers had already gathered the largest number of their strike forces in Pokrovsk, as well as in neighboring areas.
According to Ukrainian military Stanislav Bunyatov (Osman), Putin had ordered his troops to capture Pokrovsk in the coming weeks, by mid-November. He announced this on his Telegram channel ''They Speak Sniper''.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on October 31 that the situation in the Pokrovsk direction remains difficult, but that the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine are not surrounded there.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Oleksandr Syrsky, said yesterday that he had visited the hot spots on the front, refuting information about encirclements and blockades of Ukrainian formations in this direction. According to him, Russian troops are currently paying a high price in their attempt to capture Pokrovsk, UNIAN reports.
During his visit to the front, he spoke with corps and military units in the Pokrovsk direction, where it is currently most difficult, and also listened to reports from commanders on the ground about the current situation and the existing needs of Ukrainian forces in this sector.
"In the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd agglomeration, our soldiers must hold back the pressure of a multi-thousand-strong enemy group, which continues its attempts to penetrate residential areas and cut off our supply routes. However, there is no encirclement or blockade of cities, we are doing everything to implement logistics", says Syrsky.
The general also notes that a comprehensive operation is underway to destroy and expel Russian forces from Pokrovsk.
According to Syrsky, the main burden now falls on the shoulders of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in particular, BPS operators and assault units. Also, under his orders, consolidated groups of the Special Operations Forces, the Special Operations Command, the Security Service of Ukraine and other units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, including the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GRU), are operating in the city.
"The enemy in Pokrovsk is paying the highest price for its attempt to fulfill the Kremlin dictator's task of occupying the Ukrainian Donbas. We continue to liberate and clear the territory of the Dobropolsky outcrop. We hold Pokrovsk. We also hold Mirnograd.
I emphasize once again that in the current difficult conditions, effective interaction between units and coordinated implementation of the assigned tasks are extremely important“, he added.
Earlier, Ukrainian media reported that GRU fighters had probably launched a counteroffensive operation near Pokrovsk.
Yesterday, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian forces had disarmed Ukrainian GRU paratroopers near Pokrovsk.
Hours later, Russia announced that Ukrainian soldiers surrounded in Pokrovsk had begun to surrender voluntarily.
