A man was killed in a drone attack by the Ukrainian armed forces on a multi-storey building in Volgograd /former Stalingrad/, the regional administration reported on its Telegram channel, citing Governor Andrei Bocharov.
„On the night of November 5-6, the air defense units of the Russian Ministry of Defense repelled a massive drone attack on the Volgograd region. As a result of a terrorist drone attack on a 24-storey apartment building on 4 „Garya Khokholova“ Street, balconies were damaged and windows of nearby buildings were broken. A civilian, a 48-year-old man, was killed by shrapnel,“ he said.
The regional governor added that windows of residential buildings and cars were damaged in some areas of the city.
“A fire broke out in an industrial zone in the Krasnoarmeysky district as a result of falling debris. Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the fire,“ Bocharov added.
Specialists from emergency services and municipalities are assessing the damage and eliminating the consequences. The Volgograd administration has been instructed to prepare a temporary emergency center in one of the city's lyceums to ensure the safety of residents in the event of bomb disposal operations.
