Moscow has repeatedly received assurances from the Serbian leadership that the export of ammunition produced in Serbia is under strict control and this production will not be delivered to Ukraine. This was stated at a briefing by the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, commenting at the request of journalists on Vucic's words in an interview with a German magazine about his readiness to sell ammunition to the European Union, TASS reports, quoted by Focus.
The diplomat points to the "inconsistency in the statements of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic in the public sphere".
"You know, when I read all these interviews of the President of Serbia, I wonder if there really is one President Vucic, because it seems to me that the interviews are given by different people. We hear some statements when he is in Moscow, we hear other statements when he gives interviews, being in other geographical points. I am only talking about the public sphere. I don't know, maybe the media distorted something, but then there should be explanations from the relevant press service, the press service of the President of Serbia," she added.
"To be honest, we have repeatedly, including at the highest level, received assurances from the Serbian leadership that the export of Serbian-made ammunition is under strict control, that this production will not be delivered to Ukraine, so that Kiev cannot use it against our servicemen," Zakharova emphasized.
