A parked car exploded near the Red Fort in the Indian capital Delhi, PTI reported, citing an official, BTA reported.
Footage broadcast by local media shows flames and smoke engulfing more than one car on a busy street near a metro station in the old part of Delhi, Reuters reported. At least 1 person was reported dead.
Fire engines and a police team have arrived at the scene, the NDTV television channel reported.
The Red Fort, known in India as Lal Qila, was built in the 17th century. It is located in the old part of the city and is visited by tourists all year round.
