Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for the dismissal of the justice and energy ministers and said he supports the anti-corruption services in their investigation into abuses in the energy sector, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

"First of all, there must be maximum transparency in the energy sector, in absolutely all processes", Zelensky said in a video address. "Now it is very difficult for everyone in Ukraine. "It is absolutely abnormal that there are still any schemes in the energy sector," the Ukrainian leader added.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) announced yesterday that it had uncovered a major corruption scheme in the energy sector, through which nearly $100 million was laundered.

The Council of Ministers of Ukraine today decided to temporarily remove Justice Minister German Galushchenko from office amid the investigation into the major corruption scandal that has erupted.

Galushchenko wrote on "Facebook" that he supports this decision of the Council of Ministers, which he defines as a "civilized and appropriate scenario." He vowed to defend himself against the accusations, without disclosing any further details related to them.
