The late Jeffrey Epstein, who committed suicide in custody after being arrested on sex crime charges, has said that Donald Trump knew about the underage girls he exploited, according to emails released by Democratic representatives in the House of Representatives, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
The Democrats cite Epstein's correspondence with the writer Michael Wolff, as well as with his former girlfriend and socialite Gillian Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for trafficking minors.
The White House has not yet commented on the information. It is known that Trump and Epstein were on friendly terms in the late 1990s and early 2000s, but Trump denies that committed any violations.
"In a private correspondence with Guillain Maxwell from 2011, Jeffrey Epstein wrote that Donald Trump spent hours at his home with one of the trafficking victims," Democrats on the House Oversight Committee said.
They also cited another 2019 email sent to Michael Wolff in which "Epstein clearly states that Donald Trump knew about the girls because he asked Guillain to stop".
