The Telegraph: Zelensky is losing touch with reality, his actions show desperation

His trips to European capitals and the signing of large-scale arms deals that Kiev cannot afford do nothing to solve the challenges facing the country, the publication writes

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is losing touch with reality, and his actions demonstrate desperation. This was stated by columnist Owen Matthews in an article for the British newspaper The Telegraph.

According to him, Zelensky's trips to European capitals and the signing of large-scale arms deals that Kiev cannot afford do not in any way solve the challenges facing Ukraine, where the political and military situation is escalating.

The article claims that the behavior of the Ukrainian leader is causing concern among his supporters.

“Zelensky's behavior is a worrying sign for all well-wishers of Ukraine because it demonstrates desperation“, the article notes.

Against the backdrop of the critical phase of the conflict with Russia, the reduction of international financial assistance, the fourfold increase in desertions in the Ukrainian army, the successful offensive of Russian forces and the collapse of Zelensky's political authority, “we should be very concerned about the future of Ukraine“, the author emphasized.

In light of the corruption scandal involving Zelensky's associates, the European Union is demanding guarantees from Kiev that financial aid granted to the country will not be used for bribes. The investigation has not yet established that Zelensky himself is involved.
